Listed: Passion Pink

Love Love Love… Blah blah blah.  Since I have no one to celebrate today with (not a pitty party!!) I am going to share THINGS I LOVE (that also happen to be pink…yay Valentine’s Day)

Yumi Kim!!!  Never heard of it?  Well, I’m a huge fan of hers and her clothing.  Every print is an original and very cute.  She also has great markdowns throughout the year so subscribe to her emails!

(Sorry this isn't above the painting... tech problems)

Love this painting!  (and I know its not ALL pink)  I’ve grown up with French Bulldogs and one day will have one of my own but for  now, as a single working lady, this painting will hold me over!  It’s by Russian artist Sveltlana Novikova.  She is very talented and does custom work too!  (located in Austin, TX) http://www.svetlananovikova.com/index.php

Due to an amazing spur of the moment post college Euro-trip, my friend Bailey’s (of Peppermint Bliss http://www.peppermintbliss.com/) obsession of all things champagne rubbed off on me; especially Veuve Clicquot Rose.  I even have a giant framed rose label hanging in my room.  I guess this would be a delightful drink to enjoy on a day like today if you’re celebrating that whole love thing….

Always have this on hand.  Always.

Love this Ralph Lauren Collection neckerchief.  So pretty you could even frame it!

Every time I see someone in colored Wayfarers I categorize them as a fun person.  Who doesn’t LOVE a fun person?  So these are fitting for my pink love list.

You really can’t go wrong with Louboutin’s on your feet and how lovely are these pink patent Rolando Pumps??

Also for the feet, these Ugg slippers!  Best part about them is that they have a rubber sole so if you need to run outside to get the paper, no need to change!

Ok, I know she wasn’t the nicest chick on 5th avenue, but I cannot lie, Olivia Palermo has got it going on when it comes to fashion. She is my “fashion” girl crush (my actual girl crush is Gwyneth Paltrow but that’s another post in itself). She can’t make a mistake, according to me. I love what she did with Tibi’s Cloister Beading long dress. Just a simple touch of pink in the belt and arm candy, perfect! Check out all her stylings for Tibi’s Spring line. http://www.tibi.com/blog/

Love Laduree macaroons!  The colors, presentation, history, packaging… yum!  How adorable is this special Marie Antoinette Raspberry macaroon.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

I fell in love in college and the relationship is still going strong.  We met one night while I was out at Cain & Ables (bar/restaurant smack in the middle of where most UT students live).  I had been there a few times before and never noticed him until one night, my eyes spotted his wonderful glowing screen.  Love at first sight.  Allow me to introduce you to mi amor….

I was hooked.  Maybe I should consider a career as a DJ because to this day when I see one of these little gems hanging on a wall I cannot pass up an opportunity to brainstorm and browse for the perfect few songs to play.  When I would hear a good song I would sometimes tag it or make note of it as something to play the next time I could.  Seriously, I am a nut.  In honor of Friday, which was often the night I would encounter my lover, I will share a few fun songs that are sure to get you in the mood for the weekend!

  1. DEV - Bass Down Low
  2. Sleigh Bells - Kids
  3. Sleigh Bells - Riot Rhythm
  4. David Guetta & Rihanna – Who’s That Chick
  5. Edward Maya – Stereo Love
  6. S & M – Rihanna
  7. Black Eyed Peas – Just Can’t Get Enough
  8. Lupe Fiasco – The Show Goes On
  9. Jessie J – Price Tag

Listed: Style Profile

I love to outfit my friends.  If you were to scroll through my iPhone photos you would see several pictures of my French bulldogs and a gazillion images of various products and clothing items.  I can’t help it.  When I am shopping and notice something that is PERFECT for one of my pals I always snap a picture of it and send it to them with a “this is so you” caption.  I have an eclectic group of wonderful friends that all have great taste and trademark looks.  I am going to share some of these friends with you and things I find for them.  You never know where you will find inspiration for your own look so I hope you enjoy!  I will call these posts “Listed: Style Profile”

Today I would like to introduce you to my friend Katie.  Katie is an “All-American Sweetheart.”  Born and raised in Beaumont, TX, Katie went to SMU and studied education and Spanish and is now a Spanish teacher in Dallas,TX.  She is from a family of all girls; Emily, Sarah, Katie and Megan…see what I mean by All-American??  She has a great sense of style that can best be defined as “Classic.”  I don’t think one would find too many Urban Outfitters items in her closet.  Her hair is never a mess.  She wears it curled or pulled back in a sleek ponytail.  She has beautiful light skin (amazing complexion), the longest lashes I have ever seen, and milk chocolate brown hair.  She owns pearls and is not afraid to use them.  Buzz words for Katie’s look: Timeless, classy, sharp, bright, structured, basic, beautiful, equestrian inspired, Southern, charming, feminine, and poised.  I hope this description has helped you “get to know” her so you can see where I am coming from when I share my “Katie Picks.”   (Most of these two looks are pulled from NM or TB, two of her favorite places to shop).

The Lovely Katie

This is something I could see Katie wearing to a brunch or something of that nature.  It is easy, yet put together.  Very Katie.

Laure Henley Top - Tory Burch

Preppy and casual.  Love the tie at the neckline.

Ankle Legging Jean - Tory Burch

Katie is petite and looks great in a skinny jean and I prefer dark jeans when they come to the ankle.

Fireena Ankle Strap Espadrille - Ralph Lauren

Wedges are a Spring must have and these are classic brown espadrille taken to another level with the crisscross straps.

Eddie Ballet Flat

I included a second shoe in this look because Katie isn't afraid to wear flats out (on the town).  Simple and easy and so versatile.

Vitello Daino Tote - Prada

Red is a great accent color.  I love this bag for Katie because its a "loud" item but structured.  I'm sure small bags are not practical when you are a teacher!

Pave Diamond Nobless Cable - David Yurman

Katie always polished off her look with accessories.  Never over does it.  She is a fan of Yurman so I though this and the Chain bracelet below looked like a fun combo to go with this look.

Link Extra Large Bracelet - David Yurman

This look is to be worn for a night on the town or when she needs to look a little better than "casual."

Laricia Tunic - Tory Burch

This would be adorable on Katie.  Shows just the right amount of skin and would look great with her curled hair.  A great "Boho Chic" look for Spring.

Ferris Flare - Hudson

While I love a skinny jean on Katie, I also am a fan of the wider leg pant trend for Spring and these jeans are great.  Still close fitting in certain areas so that she won't look gigantic (big shirt on top + wide pants =NO).  Also, I like that they hide some of the shoe because I picked a shoe that is a little "too matchy" but works well for Katie.

Crochet Strap Wedge - Stuart Weitzman

I love these!  For me, Katie, and everyone else! I have them and they are a great shoe for the season.  Come in several colors but I chose this orange (exclusively at NM) because it just reminded me of her to have the "perfect" shoe to go with an outfit.

Philomena Stone Studded Clutch - DVF

This is a great item to have in your closet.  Goes with everything!  Katie is a very practical person and this is an item I can see her purchasing.  I love the detail and that it is large enough to carry more than a stick of gum.

Rock Candy Drop Earings - Ippolita

Katie has a lot of turquoise because it looks great on her!  Also, turquoise can go with just about anything and Katie being one to always look put together would definitely wear these often!

Four Stone Howlite Cuff - Devon Leigh

This might not catch Katie's eye but I think it would be a great finisher to this look!

Hope you liked "meeting" Katie!!  Let me know if you want me to feature you!!

Listed: Weather or Not

Winter has been brutal this year.  I am tired of the layers, snow, frozen toes, icy streets, and runny noses.  I’m ready for Sprummer (Spring/Summer).  I will never be one to long for summer because in Texas, they are just as brutal, just on the other end of the spectrum.  Most people in Dallas are taking ANOTHER snow day.  Not me.  While sitting at my desk and wishing I were home, I have been day dreaming about Sprummer.  Where I wish I could go, what I wish I could do, and what I wish I could wear.  Speaking of what I wish I could wear, I hope that most of my summer wardrobe comes from Calypso.  Have you seen their Spring line up?  Or better yet, have you heard that they are designing a line exclusively for Target?  Its TRUE!  May 1st, mark your calendars!  I love visiting the store.  It always smells so fresh and sprummerish.  If you don’t have a Calypso where you live, no problemo.  Everything is online in addition to the other vendors they sell in their stores.  I think they have a great buyer for their jewelry.  I am not going to include my favorite jewelry so be sure to check it out!  Here are some items I love and want to own:

Batik Sailor Dress - So easy.

Brenton Tank - If you know me, you know this is something I would definitely wear.

Bloussant Full Dress - I don't know if I can pull this off but I think its so cute.  Very easy. Would look great with a wedge.  Reminds me of my friend Maddie or Alex.

Poet Kaftan - White out is a trend this season and this fits the bill!

Poet Shirt - I will purchase this top.  I love it.  A light weight. nice neckline, and good length.  Again, right on target with the white out wardrobe trend.

Rope Embroidered Tunic - I like this with a white pant and think it would also pair well with a yellow short and wedges.

Twin Set Ika Dress - Perfect for a luncheon.  The necklace you pick is key!

Twist Wrap Dress - I LOVE this coral dress!  I would not wear boots with it but think this too is a great luncheon dress.

White Angel Jean - Really a fan of the wider leg on this jean.  Again, a trend to try this season!

And finally, the only image I could locate when I searched for a sneak peak at the Calypso for Target line.  Two thumbs up!

Listed: Trend Spotting - CORAL

Happy Tuesday… I guess?  Tuesday is like turning 22…nothing special.  Its not the dreaded Monday or Hump day or “acceptable to go out" Thursday and definitely not THE WEEKEND J.  So in honor of the dull Tuesday hopefully a post about CORALS will brighten things up!  I’m excited that coral is a trend this season.  I think it’s a color that most people can pull off and it can be worn from head to toe or as an accent.  I also like the coral color spectrum.  From bright orange-coral to pink-coral to deep red-coral, there is something in that line up for everyone.  Subtracting the last few lines and a few on the sides is what I mean by coral color spectrum:

So many shades and so much of it this season!!  Here are a few things I have my eye on:

Parker Coral Snake Skin Dress

Alexander Mcqueen Chiffon Skull Scarf

Eli Tahari Coral Satin Wedge

Kade Necklace by Lemel Designs

Coral Birkin Bag

Cosabella for J. Crew Soft Bra in Coral

J. Crew Indian Voile Boy Shirt

Just caught my eye one day so I saved it...but great coral in this work of art!

Listed: Back in the Swing of Things

I’m alive…barely.  Super Bowl weekend was intense and I am glad it is over.  Our event was a success so that is all that matters!  Last week was a back to back schedule of meetings and such topped off with a HORRIBLE 5 days of icy roads, snow, and sleet, which left little room for personal time also known as exercise time for me.  Whenever I have weeks where events and obligations break up my “routine” I find it easier to get back on track if I come up with a plan of some sort.  Call me crazy, I'm use to it.  So in order to get back on track I am considering a 3 day juice cleanse from Blue Print Cleanse.

It looks mild enough and might be just what I need to get back into the groove of healthy eating. Anyone heard anything about this?  Let me know! http://blueprintcleanse.com/#

On to the next event!  If you are in Dallas be sure to mark your calendars for this Wednesday, February 9!  Neiman Marcus Downtown is hosting a trend preview party in honor of the blog Luella and June from 6 to 8!  We will have cocktails, a DJ, and Gigi’s cupcakes while bloggers Bradley and Alison dish on Spring trends! How cute is the invitation!  Also, two lucky attendees will win a Tory Burch Tote or Stuart Weitzman Wedges!  Please come! http://www.luellajune.blogspot.com/
